The Construction of a Hippie Safari Premium hybrid fitted
All diapers are hand made by a mom at home.A hybrid fitted is a cloth nappy with a water resistant fleece sewn into the nappy, replacing PUL. The benefits of fleece as a water barrier versus PUL is that fleece is breathable and allows for adequate air circulation to baby’s skin. Polyester fleece repels urine away from the outer of the nappy and back into the absorbent parts of the nappy. It is a material that is able to keep the outside of your baby’s nappy feeling dry for up to 4 hours, the average amount of time between diaper changes. This means you can use the nappy without a cover although it does need a cover to be completely waterproof. We recommend pairing the nappy with our Hippie Safari fleece soakers for an effective, bullet proof nighttime solution.Our front snapping nappies are designed to fit babies from 5kg – 18kg. Each nappy is stocked with a fold down rise, allowing for a perfect fit for babies both big and small.Our front snapping nappies feature cross over wings. This is to allow for a generous fit on larger babies, and a snug fit on the tiny babies, too.The soaker is snake style and is made up of 4 layers of bamboo fleece when folded and snapped into the nappy. Each nappy also comes with a booster for use with heavy wetters at nap time and overnight.A hybrid fitted is the best of both nappy worlds, perfect for those who are seeking both a breathable nappy and a long lasting nappy. Wrap a cover on baby for over night use and end the night time Nappy woes – this nappy will ensure that you wake up with dry sheets in the morning. If you’re going out with baby, simply use a cover.
Firstly, for those unfamiliar to this very important event: The Hippie Safari hybrid fitteds are nappies made by a WAHM in Cape Town. Sold exclusively on Doodlebums. She has had two stockings previously and the last one was sold out in 37 minutes! A stocking is when a batch of freshly made nappies become available for purchase. See it as when the Doodlebums online store becomes stocked with these squishy new nappies. You need to be a registered user on the Doodlebums online store.

The stocking will happen on Friday, 11 April 2014. It will go live at 8:30pm South African time as I first need to see to my two tots before the Hippie Safari fun starts.
What to expect:
On the night the stocking goes live, you will ensure that whichever device you use, to give you access to the internet, is fully charged (with power and air time if applicable!). This is the perfect opportunity for your partner and kids to have some quality time together so you can focus…. 😉 Go to the Doodlebums online store, click on Shop by Brand and click on Hippie Safari. A few minutes before the confirmed time which the stocking will go live, you will start to press F5 (refresh) to keep refreshing the page so you see them become available as soon as possible. The reason you do this is because your browser won’t refresh on its own. Most work from cache and that’s not as interesting a topic as cloth nappies right now…. so we will focus on what you need to do next:
As soon as you see the Hippie Safari Nappies click on “view product details”. Scroll down and make your selection from the list, click “add to cart” and click “checkout”. You need to complete your order as fast as you can. Only once you have placed your order and received an order number you have been successful! First to checkout, first to score = First come, first serve. Please keep in mind that you might need to select a different print than the one you ordered as sometimes two shoppers checkout at exactly the same time. If you want other products from the Doodlebums store too, it is best to place them in your cart before the stocking goes live.
The same evening I will e-mail your invoice with the Doodlebums banking details on it. As soon as payment is received we will post your Hippie Safari products to you 🙂
Prices per nappy will be around R200. Prices will be confirmed a day before stocking. A preview album and more details will also be loaded onto the Doodlebums Facebook page. You guys will be in for a few surprises!

Afterwards there will be a competition: 6 lucky people stand a chance of winning a sample size of the new Little Ladybugs handmade soothing bum salve. This competition will become active after the stocking. We will post a score thread on the Doodlebums Facebook page and all you have to do (once you received your invoice) is to comment with your score! Winners will be randomly drawn and your bum salve will be included in your package.
